Our Volunteer Model
Our vessels are staffed by an incredible volunteer Crew from all over the world. This model allows Mercy Ships to dedicate more donor funds to the services we provide.
We want to ensure that each volunteer is financially prepared for their service on board. The resources below are designed to help you get started.
What is Support Raising?
Support raising invites others to partner with you as you fulfill God’s unique calling on your life.
Support raising involves sharing about Mercy Ships and your volunteer mission, and inviting others to consider partnering with you throughout your service. It includes fundraising to seek financial support, but also spiritual and practical support.
Your First Partners
Have you shared about Mercy Ships with your friends, family, or workplace? This allows them to pray for your service and consider whether to support further.
In addition, your church’s leadership may be able and honored to provide culturally relevant guidance on support raising.
If you have never raised support before, that’s ok! Your National Office or the Fundraising Support Team is there to provide coaching and advice.

Your Donation Page
After you receive dates to serve, Mercy Ships can create a personal fundraising page for you to share with your friends and family.
If you have a National Office they can provide information about their fundraising platform.
Bloomerang is the platform used by crew with US-based donors, and those who do not have a National Office.
